Meal Planning with Wunderlist

Warning: If you do not like lists, please move along 😊 as this post will give you hives.

When I sit down each week to menu plan, I literally draw a blank. My daughter says it’s the same phenomenon when you are asked what you want for Christmas. Five minutes before you could list a half dozen gift items, but as soon as someone asks you, the mind goes blank. This is me EVERY WEEK!

If you can make a monthly meal plan and stick to it then you are my hero. I tend to be a little more “high maintenance” than that. I want to look forward to a meal and some meals sound better to me on certain days than others. I want to feel it! I needed a meal plan that was a little more dynamic.

I have started using the free and most wonderful, Wunderlist App to help me meal plan. I have a list of Menu Idea folders by category: beef, chicken, pork, fish & seafood, veggie. You can categorize it any way that makes the most sense to you. It only took me about 15 minutes to look through my recipe book, Pinterest and Allrecipes to populate the categories with recipes my family loves. Now when I sit down each week to menu plan/grocery list, I have lots of ideas to pull from. Then I can create a menu plan and grocery list for the week. Here is my favorite menu/grocery shopping paper list from Abby Organizes https://abbyorganizes.com/products/grocery-shopping-list-printables

I can add and delete meals on the fly. I can create seasonal meal lists, small group meal lists...the lists are endless. Dreamy and delicious!

Let me know if you try Wunderlist. I would love to share meal ideas.
